Something you shouldn't do without! The Berkey Light water filter will soon become your best friend as it purges your tap water of pathogenic bacteria, cysts and parasites; trihalomethanes and radiologicals (e.g. radon); volatile organic compounds (VOCs) such as benzene, chlorine, carbon tetrachloride and ethylene dibromide; and up to 95% of heavy metals (e.g. lead, aluminum, mercury). Two two-gallon reservoirs stack on one another, see-through for easy cleaning, TRANSPORTABLE, no power needed, no installation (just assemble), and fill straight from your sink! Within a couple of hours you'll have clean water that tastes wonderful. Stop buying your water -- create it yourself!
Note: There are numerous Berkey models out there. After talking to Berkey users, we decided the Berkey Light would be our recommendation. It's a no-fuss, no-frills, portable unit that's affordable and lets you keep track of how much water you have. (Other models are not see-through.) For those who are worried about plastic, the compound used in this model does not leach BPA (bisphenol A) into the water.
Our Berkey Light model comes with two Black Berkey purification filters (good for 3000 gallons, must be used as a pair). The Berkey PF2 fluoride/arsenic filters (good for 1000 gallons) -- $55 for a pair -- are optional.
